This Sucks (An Introduction)
Money is stupid and annoying. It makes us do crazy things. Maybe, one day you were in school with hopes and dreams of a job you love, and a high paying career. The next, you are betting on Italian ping pong chasing, the losses you racked up from betting college football all day to forget about the feeling you have working your totally unfulfilling job that barely pays the bills in hopes of hitting it big and never returning to said job. Or maybe you are 4 years into some MLM selling “essential oils” and you can’t admit to yourself that this is a sunk cost and you’ve spent more than you earned, and it’s time to throw in the towel. Or maybe you get so mad with how many times a day you have to hear Adam Scott’s voice tell you about tax act it makes you want to evade taxes forever. Why does he need tax money and why does the business of my tax filings make so much money that Adam Scott will take it.
I digress. The state of money and how people see it is in a dire place. I feel the frustration bottled up in me to the point that I need to get it out, even if that is this blog where no one will read it. If you found this website and any of that resonates, welcome, we are going to get along just fine.
I have researched and tried many different ideas/strategies to make money, get rich quick, make passive income, and mostly all I feel is burnt out. So many places, money is painted as “free” or '“easy” and it never is. It is almost always hard and expensive.
When money is involved companies are always lying. Hell I had to do an hour of research while setting up this website just to understand what I would be charged to run it. Nothing is simple. I want this to be a place where we can air our grievances with any and all industries that make money and take it from us. I also want us to be able to share any wisdom we do have and be as honest as possible. As much as I hate money, I still want to have some. I want to retire one day and live out my days in a life similar to Thanos after he snapped his fingers. (not the snap, just the cottage with a garden part) so we may speak positively in the future (shocker I know) of companies that actually makes our financial life a little easier. I do also want to do some experiments with different things so you don’t have to.
I actually went to school for finance, not because I wanted to run some giant company and wring every human being on earth of every penny left in their body, but because I wanted to understand how to navigate this hell hole we call an economy and achieve some sort of fulfillment one day. Maybe we can do that together. Probably not.
